Operating under the "Stay Home, Stay Safe" Executive Order, effective midnight March 24, the Charter Township of Shelby closed Township Hall and all associated buildings until April 13. Residents may still call any township department to leave a voicemail message. Appropriate personnel will return calls as soon as possible. Residents can also email township staff at email@example.com for general questions.

Your elected township officials are committed to working cooperatively, solving problems, addressing your concerns, and building a stronger township. I will always remember that you, the people of Shelby Township, have elected me to this position and that it is you, not me, who retains the power.
As Supervisor, I enjoy serving you by exploring new ground and learning new things so that together we can find ways of accomplishing work in simpler, faster, and better ways. That means we'll be confronting and working to resolve some very tough issues and remembering through it all that there's no wisdom like frankness.
Our ultimate goal will be to meet the needs of our community and do so with a balanced township budget with no new taxes or tax increases. We will prevail as long as we welcome ideas, advice, and support from each other, and fully commit ourselves to a shared vision and shared values.
What we do:
The Charter Township of Shelby has several committees, commissions and boards, which allow residents and other members of the community the opportunity to take an active role in Township government. Appointing authority to these bodies lies with the Township Supervisor and the Board of Trustees.
Official applications must be submitted to the Township Clerk’s Office at 52700 Van Dyke Ave. and are valid for two years from the date they were submitted. Following an application's expiration, applicants must submit a new form to the Clerk’s Office.
The Township Supervisor's Office serves as a liaison between township hall and homeowners associations throughout the township. Shelby Township is currently working to create a Homeowner Association database for associations within our borders. If you would like to include your Homeowner Association, please fill out the online form here.
|The Township Supervisor's Office and the township engineer serve as the liaison between the township and the Macomb County Department of Roads. All surface roads within Shelby Township are under the jurisdiction of the MCDR. The township does not have jurisdiction to repair, expand or maintain any roads within its borders. The MCDR can be reached at 586-469-8671 or at roads.macmbgov.org.|
