NOTICE 

Construction Board of Appeals Hearing 

Date: March 27, 2024

Time: CBA #24-02 @ 6 p.m. 

Location: 52700 Van Dyke, Shelby Township, Ml 48316 Conference Room - Lower-Level 

Pursuant to the authority contained in 1972 PA 230, Section 16, as amended, of the Michigan Construction Code Act (MCLA 125.1516), a hearing will be held pertaining to the following requests: 

1. Approval of Minutes - CBA #23-03 - September 6, 2023 Hearing
2. CBA #24-02 - Shelby Township Building Department, Timothy Wood, Township wide

2015 Michigan Building Code, Section 903.2.4, 903.2. 7 and 903.2.9.1: 

Request to allow an alternate method of construction, permitted under a later edition of the code, to be applied as it pertains to fire protection system requirements involving the manufacturing, display, sale, and/or storage of upholstered furniture and mattresses. 

All parties are expected to be prepared to present competent evidence regarding the request. The hearing will be held in accordance with Township procedures and 1969 PA 306 of the Administrative Procedures Act. 

Exhibits pertaining to the above-mentioned issue are available upon request to the Building Department. 

Official minutes of the Construction Board of Appeals are maintained within the offices of the Building Department and are available during normal business hours.
