Shelby Township is proud to be a part of Green Macomb, an effort organized by Macomb County to ensure that those municipalities within the county are pushing to improve their environment to the benefit of everyone who lives in and visits the region. A major focus of Green Macomb is on our green infrastructure, protecting our rivers and waterways, our marshes, and trails. Ensuring that those resources are available for everyone. ReLeaf Michigan works to educate the public on the value of trees within our state and partners with various volunteer, nonprofit, and governmental groups to plant over 30,000 trees. Shelby Township is pleased to work with ReLeaf whenever the opportunity comes up, most recently we participated in a planting event with multiple nearing municipalities to plant over 700 trees in the area, read about it here.
