Down Home Days
Shelby Township is abuzz as the much-anticipated Down Home Days Festival, hosted by the Shelby Township Lions Club and Shelby Township, returns.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Knights Park and Pavilion at 11541 21 Mile Road, this annual extravaganza promises four days of wholesome entertainment and community spirit May 24-27.
The festival boasts a diverse lineup of live bands and DJs that will enhance the carnival atmosphere and delight attendees of all ages. Down Home Days offers something for everyone, from thrilling midway attractions to the soothing tunes of local musicians.
“We’re excited to see such a diverse array of musical talent in our community this summer,” Township Trustee Lisa Casali said. “Down Home Days is a fantastic opportunity for residents of all ages to come together, and now the Lions Club has added four days of free, quality entertainment to an event that was already a resounding success.”
At the heart of the festivities lies the Lions Club Party Pavilion, serving as a central refreshment hub and fostering a sense of togetherness within the community. With free parking at the park and pavilion lot, guests can easily immerse themselves in the festivities without hassle.
The event kicks off from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on May 24, followed by extended hours from noon to 11 p.m. on May 25 and May 26. The event culminates on May 27 with hours from noon to 6 p.m., promising a weekend filled with fun and excitement for all who attend.
Music enthusiasts are in for a treat as Down Home Days presents an impressive musical lineup. Highlights include performances by Sunset Boulevard 7-10:30 p.m. on May 24, Scott Cummins 2-5 p.m. May 25, FiftyAmpFuse 7-10:30 p.m. on May 25, Bernadette Kathryn and the Lonely Days Band 7-10 p.m. on May 26, and Big B and The Actual Proof 1-4 p.m. May 27.
