The 2021 Shelby Township Police Department Community Shred Day takes place on Oct. 16. From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Oct. 16, residents can dispose of sensitive paperwork at the shred day hosted by the Shelby Township Police Department, the Shelby Community Foundation and Absolute Shreds. The event combats identity theft. Absolute Shreds will recycle all shredded documents with any paper bags in which they are brought, but boxes will be returned to those who bring them. The township urges that businesses in Shelby Township bring only two boxes of documents to be shredded. For more information, call the Police Department at 586-731-2121.
