Water main break:

The water main that was damaged near 24 Mile and Schoenherr roads Nov. 16 has been repaired. There is NO boil water advisory. The break impacted a small number of homes and staff from the Shelby Township Department of Public Works contacted all affected properties.

As Michigan became a state in 1837, Governor Stevens T. Mason and the legislature set forth pans for the Clinton-Kalamazoo Canal to transport farm products. The canal was to cross the state to eliminate the long trips through the Straits of Mackinac to Chicago.
