The Shelby Township Senior Center has a wide variety of activities for adults age 50 and older in order to help keep our residents mentally, physically and socially healthy.

You must register as a member of the Shelby Township Senior Center every year to participate in our events and activities. The cost is $5 for residents of Shelby Township and Utica or $10 for non-residents. Membership is required for all programs.

Our services include transportation, a free community loan closet for medical equipment, mental stimulation with puzzles and brain teasers, physical activity and organizations to promote socialization. All of these serve to benefit the lives of our residents.

Shelby Township Senior Center Schedules
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, our schedules are subject to change. To ensure your events are occurring as scheduled check our calendar before heading out.

Because they are so popular, some of the senior center programs at the Shelby Township Activities Center have capacity limits. To ensure access to the activities and programs you want, we ask you to contact our office at 586-739-7540 or email seniors@shelbytwp.org.

Medicare Part D Assistance – Fall Open Enrollment

The senior center will again partner with the Area Agency on Aging 1-B’s Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program to offer support to Medicare Part D recipients during open enrollment. Reviewing plan choices every year can be very helpful. Appointments are available with counselors who are trained to help you find the most cost effective plan for your needs. Please have current plan information and your medication list with you when you come to your appointment. Please call the Area Agency on Aging to schedule an appointment at 800-803-7174. Please book your appointment early – we have limited availability.
